Buying Equipment for a news studio?

Are you looking to build a news studio but do not know where to buy the equipment? Try www.bandhphoto.com . I have used them for audio video equipment for several years and have been very satisfied.

I use www.projectorpeople.com for projectors.

I use www.monoprice.com for any cables and connectors.

Professional Video Editing Software (PC)

Adobe Premier Pro is a PC program comparable to Apple Final Cut. It is a professional video editor for those looking to take production to the next level. If your teachers need training and live in the Southeast, you can get very good training at a company called Sterling Ledet. They are located in Atlanta. They also offer training on Apple Final Cut, Adobe Photoshop and many others.

Media Distribution With Vbrick

If you do not have a video distribution center at your school yet, I suggest VBrick.

It converts practically any signal into a signal that your network can recognize. Example:

You can broadcast a video from a DVD player to all classrooms at the same time over the net. It can be viewed globally as well.

Global example: You have Awards Day at your school and a parent who is stationed in another country wants to see his or her child receive their awards, this can be possible with VBrick.

Having Problems With Video Formats

If you have trouble converting an "AVI" file to a "WMV" or "MP4" to "MPEG" or practically any other conversion, try MediaConverter8. It is an ArcSoft product. It is simple to use and effective. It gives the user control over the aspect ratio of the video as well as many other factors. You can download this program for a free 15 day trial at: http://www.arcsoft.com/mediaconverter/

If you are pleased, the price is only $29.99

Have fun converting!!!

Kids Make Pro-looking Newscasts

Many schools have mini television stations in them. However, unless you have the funds to spend on powerful video editing software such as Apple Final Cut or Adobe Premier Pro, you may need a more practical alternative. Unlike the two programs mentioned above, in-depth training is not required for a product called Adobe Visual Communicator. Using this $150-300 program, the average 5th grader could make a semi-professional newscast in about 15 minutes. This is great for students to use to make reports more exciting by preparing a video report instead of a traditional report. If you feel like you do not know enough about production, watch the following video. It may help the beginner get TV broadcasts up and running at a low cost.

Affordable Tech Cables

Have you ever bought new equipment and found out that the cost of the cables and adapters needed is almost as much as the equipment?

Try looking at www.monoprice.com

Monoprice has cables, adapters, TV mounts etc at a fraction of the cost of most vendors I have seen. It has been my experience that their quality is great and shipping is timely. This can save you hundreds each year. They also offer printer cartridges at a fraction of the cost. I have had one printer cartridge order that I was not pleased with, but I am very pleased with most everything I order from them.
